Camp aboard the USS Hornet!
Stay aboard for a rare, unique “Night Ops” sleep aboard adventure in the San Francisco Bay. Experience the Navy Seamen life on same ship where the Apollo 11 (Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, Michael Collins) and Apollo 12 (Pete Conrad, Alan Bean, Richard Gordon) astronauts stayed!
Know before you go
Heads up: The Stay Abroad experience is available to the Petty Officer and Captain reg tiers.
You’ll be camping alongside your furry friends in the crew quarters! This isn’t a luxury hotel — you’ll have authentic bunks, showers, and communal facilities that were designed to accommodate 2,600 officers and crew.
The power supply is reserved for those who need a CPAP machine at their bunk, so please don’t charge your phone in the crew quarters.
There is Wi-Fi aboard the ship that can support voice calls.
Reserve an onboard stateroom
New this year: There are onboard staterooms that can be reserved for you and your friends!
Most cabins have 2 bunks, but they range from single bedrooms to larger rooms with 6 bunks.
What to Bring
We recommend packing light, since you’ll need to carry your items through narrow ship stairwells.
Sleeping Bag, Pillow, and Hygiene Gear
Power bank to charge your phone and devices
A case for your valuables, and a lock to secure it to your bunk
Face mask to block light: The ship turns on red lights at night to help with low-light navigation of the ship.
Earplugs: The ship is made out of metal, so the soothing sounds of the bay travel quietly through the ship.
If you need a CPAP machine at your bunk, please bring a 2-prong adapter and an extension cord. Once you are onboard, please set up your bunk before heading upstairs to the rest of the con!
